Pancreatitis is a health concern where inflammation of the pancreas occurs. It is of two types: acute and chronic pancreatitis. The former causes the pancreas to become severely inflamed in a short span. It can occur due to gallstones, auto-immune diseases and alcohol intake. The latter causes the pancreatic gland to shrink from stones in the pancreatic duct and dilatation of it.
